There are some dishes that are just absolutely to-die-for. You know, the ones you get a craving for out of nowhere, when you are in your sweats, lounging in the comfort of your own home – and realize you can never re-create as good as the real thing. The Colonel Sanders Secret Recipe at KFC is one of these. They include KFC grilled chicken recipe, KFC popcorn chicken recipe, KFC secret recipe to crispy chicken, to name a few.

So one night, I talked myself into trying to make this delectable dish. I decided to try the KFC website for some helpful hints – only to grow more intimidated! The secret recipe is protected by high-tech security measures and locked away in a safe somewhere!

Instead of growing discouraged, I decided to give Colonel Sanders a run for his money. I was bound and determined to recreat the secret recipe. I did not want to "come close" or settle for less. I wanted THE Colonel Sanders Secret Recipe — but in the comfort of my own home, and without having to trudge out in the snow to hit up a drive-thru!

I tried everything to get the perfect mixture of spices, the perfect taste, the perfect texture of that golden-brown, plump-and-juicy deliciousness. I came close to giving up.

But, alas! Then, I found it — "secret" copycat restaurant recipe cookbooks including (you guessed it) the Colonel Sanders Secret Recipe. Now, I can enjoy comfort food any time I want it – at home, and made by yours truly!

Believe me this is the tip of the iceberg!

My Dish Red Lobster and more

Red Lobster Copycat Shrimp Scampi
Red Lobster Copycat Secret Recipes

Ingredients

1 cup White Wine
1/2 cup unsalted Butter
3 tablespoon minced Garlic
1 pound Shrimp, peeled and deveined
salt & pepper, to taste

Combine the butter, wine, garlic and shrimp in a pan.
Bake in a 350 degree F oven for about 7 minutes or
until the shrimp turn pink.
Be careful not to overcook the Shrimp.
Season with salt and pepper, to taste.
Serve.

Red Lobster Copycat Dungeness Crab Bisque

Ingredients

1 tablespoon minced onion
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons flour
2 cups chicken broth
2 cups half-and-half
1 pound Alaska Dungeness crab meat
Salt, to taste
Chopped parsley

Instructions
1. Sautee onion in butter until soft. Add flour; cook while stirring
for 1 minute.
2. Slowly stir in chicken broth and half-and-half; cook 5 minutes
while stirring.
3. Break crab into chunks; add to broth.
4. Heat thoroughly and add salt and pepper to taste. Garnish with
parsley.
Serves 4

Cooking Seafood
Seafood Secret Recipes

1. Purchase seafood fresh or frozen. Clams and muscles should be alive in shell when purchased. With lobster and crab live is best but frozen is a second option.

2. Cook fresh seafood within 24 hours of purchase if not sooner.

3. With frozen seafood thaw immediately before cooking. Thaw fish in refrigerator.

4. When boiling lobster no special preparation is needed. Put the lobster in boiling water head first.

5. When cooking steam crabs done when shells turn bright red.

6. Steam muscles should be cooked for only 2-3 minutes in covered pan.

7. After cooked lobster’s and crab’s shells should be cracked and dip flesh in melted butter. If desired add lemon juice separately.

8. Sautee shrimp, scallops and clams. Can be sauteed in wine sauce, garlic butter, butter, margarine or oil. Watch and remove when cooked to desired taste.

9. For mixed-seafood main dishes steamed shrimp, scallops and clams can be used.

10. Marinated seafood in refrigerator.

11. Baking fish 10 minutes per inch of thickeness at 400-450 degrees F. Halfway through cooking time turn fish. When fish becomes opaque and thickest part of fish flakes.

Broiling
If fish one inch thick or less place 2 to 4 inches from heat. Pieces greater than one inch should be placed 5-6 inches from heat.

Frying
Saute: fish in approximately 1/8 inch of cooking oil or oil covers one side of fish. Cook for 3-6 minutes per side.
Deep Fry: Cooking oil should cover entire fish. Cooking time approximately 2-3 minutes or until fish golden brown.

Boiling:
Shrimp broiled in 4 cups of water per pound of shrimp. Bring water to broil place shrimp and simmer for 3-5 minutes.
Scallops broil for 3-5 minutes

I have not even touched a tiny bit of how many recipes that are there, and I have already saved hundreds of dollars. This is not a joke, I literally have saved enough in the last 2 months it paid for a quick weekend with my husband with out the kids. These restaurant copycat recipes are there for the taking and I have worked very hard at giving you a non bias full review of these famous recipes, and what I have uncovered they missed. Don’t worry, I have uncovered what they missed and if you seriously want these recipes, I have fixed the missing parts.

Today we are all looking to save money and a lot of people are opting to stay home and cook there favorite meal at home themselves. I have a large family and "eating in’ has been the better, more frugal, option for us for a long time. With the Ruby Tuesday restaurant copycat recipes, I have enjoyed Ruby Tuesday’s ‘famous apple pie’ right in the comfort of my home. I will admit that it does get loud at home as well, but I can always send the ‘noisemakers’ to another room.

Restaurant recipes are usually closely guarded secrets that are never revealed to the public. One obvious reason is that they don’t want to lose business. There is a new trend sweeping cooking circles and that is copycat restaurant recipes. There are some sites on the web that specialize in selling copycat restaurant recipes and many are very good. The secret to copycat recipes is careful research. There are Ebooks available that contain hundreds of copycat restaurant recipes from some of America’s most popular restaurant chains including Ruby Tuesday recipes, TGI Fridays recipes, Applebees recipes, Chili’s, KFC, Boston Market, Hard Rock Caf, Joe’s Crab Shack, Red Lobster, Olive Garden, Outback Steakhouse and many many more.

There are times when getting together with family and friends just works better at home. I just love being able to cook some of those famous dishes and get all the credit. Now, I have looked in book stores and on line for these recipes, but Ruby Tuesday, TGI Fridays, Applbees is not the only restaurant that I want recipes from. Usually you find a one book per restaurant and I prefer a variety and I think I found exactly what I was looking for. I did find some books on line that have all kinds of recipes from different restaurants in them. Whether you are looking for recipes from Ruby Tuesday, Kentucky Fried Chicken, Applebee’s, Chi Chi’s or even Cracker Barrel you can find their most popular recipes in these books, the one guy that has uncovered hundreds of copycat restaurant recipes. Before purchasing any of these recipes, I prepared a full review for you. In this review I provide a non bias point of view of what these recipes really are and what they missed.

Often times, I’ll eat in a restaurant and I’ll enjoy a certain dish so much I’ll want to duplicate the recipe at home. While often times my recipes will come out good, they are never quite as good as the restaurant version, or what may be called these copycat restaurant recipes.

For those who like meatloaf, many have said the barrel cracker loaf meat recipe served at Cracker Barrel is one of the best meatloaves ever. Those who have worked at Cracker Barrel say that the secret is in the bread crumbs. At the restaurant, they use their buttermilk biscuits in place of breadcrumbs. This will absolutely make a difference in the taste of the meatloaf.

What you might consider doing is making a batch of buttermilk biscuits and then using those in your meatloaf. It will help authenticate the taste of the restaurant recipe.

This recipe is enough for three loaves. It is perfect for small parties or even family potluck dinners.

Cracker Barrel meatloaf recipe

10 pounds ground beef
30 ounces onion, chopped into 1/4-inch squares
1 pound diced green bell peppers
10 eggs
5 tablespoons salt
1 1/2 tablespoons pepper
1 1/2 quarts diced canned tomatoes
2 1/4 cups buttermilk biscuit crumbs or breadcrumbs.

This is one of those throw it all in a bowl and mix it up recipes. The restaurant uses a convection oven. Most home do not have a convection oven. I suggest cooking at about 350 degrees for about sixty minutes. After removing from the oven, invert each loaf to a cooling rack and spread a half cup of ketchup over each loaf. Cut and serve.

I did go to several sites to see if I could find a recipe for the biscuits. I found a few sites where people claiming to be Cracker Barrel employees listed the recipe. They all had the exact same recipe:

2 cups White Lily self-rising flour
1/3 cup shortening
2/3 cup buttermilk

It’s just the three ingredients. Blend the flour and shortening together. Then add in the buttermilk. Mix for one minute, roll out and cut. Bake for eight minutes at 450 degrees. Once you take them out of the oven, brush with melted butter.

I have personally not used White Lily flour, so I wanted to find a recipe using products I’ve used before and I found what is being called a copycat recipe of the Cracker Barrel buttermilk biscuits:

2 cups Bisquick
2 /3 cup buttermilk
1 teaspoon sugar
1 tablespoon melted butter

Mix the Bisquick, buttermilk and sugar together. Add the butter and mix until dough forms. Dust a board with flour and knead twenty times. Roll about inch thick and cut into biscuits. Bake eight to ten minutes at 450 degrees. What was interesting was this recipe was very clear to not brush melted butter onto the biscuits after cooking.

Either way, the key behind the restaurant copycat recipes seems to be in using crumbled buttermilk biscuits instead of bread crumbs when making the copy cat meatloaf recipe. Bob Evans Bean Soup Recipe Can Be Found Here

There are many people searching for famous secret restaurant recipes on the internet these days, I am no different. I was searching for Bob Evans bean soup recipe and was spending way to much time to find it. What I did find was a great bean sopu recipe that I have provided for you below. I do want to tell you that I have since then, found a source that claims they have uncovered hundres and hundreds of top secret recipes from very well known restaurants. I have provided a link to the review of these books in here, but for now, check this recipe out. It isn’t bob evans bean soup recipe but i truly enjoyed it.

The best soups are made from scratch. This tasty, filling entree is great for those cold winter nights.

    * 1 pound pinto, Mexican pink or black beans
    * 2 quarts cold water
    * 1 ham bone
    * 2 onions, chopped coarse
    * 2 cloves garlic
    * Hot water or stock
    * 1 1/2 – 2 teaspoons salt
    * 1 cup peeled, chopped tomatoes
    * 2 tablespoons lard, bacon drippings or oil
    * Sour Cream
    * Chopped cilantro
    * Lime quarters

Rinse and pick over the beans. In a large kettle, bring to a boil the beans, cold water, ham bone, half the onions, and 1 clove garlic. Cover and simmer until beans are tender, about 2-2 1/2 hours. Add hot water as needed to keep mixture soupy. Season with salt the last hour of simmer.

In a blender, whirl the tomatoes and garlic with the remaining onion until coarsely pureed (or the chop mixture fine if a blender is not available). Heat the lard in a saucepan and cook the tomato mixture gently until thickened, about ten minutes. Set aside.

Remove the bone from the beans and pull the meat off in strips. Set meat aside. Scoop two cups of the bean mixture from the kettle and set aside. Puree the remaining bean mixture in a covered blender or force through a food mill.

In the kettle, combine the tomato and bean mixtures, bean puree and ham meat, adding hot water or stock for the desired consistency. Heat about thirty minutes to blend flavors. Taste and correct seasoning if necessary.

Top servings with sour cream and a light sprinkle of cilantro. Pass lime quarters to squeeze over the soup. Makes about nine cups.

The dishes they prepare is not your drive through fast food hamburger. They try to give you what a family would normally prepare at home everyday. It is times like these we always look for alternatives and since I found a couple of recipe books that claim they can restaurant copycat recipes the very same way and taste identical. I had heard there there were many claims out there, but really? Cum on, these top secret recipes are being released to the public? How and why is this happening? Can you imagine the hundres of dollars one can save each month if this is true?

I was searching this day for one of my my favorite restaurants, Red Lobster. I enjoy the Red Lobster stuffed mushrooms pkus many more red Lobster dishes, and if I could find the Red Lobster bahama mama ingredients, it would truly be bliss. Another top restaurant on my list is Olive Garden. I have to say it is a toss up between Red Lobster stuffed mushrooms and Olive Garden stuffed mushrooms.

As I just mentioned, The Olive Garden recipe for stuffed mushrooms is one of my absolute favorites! I enjoy ordering the yummy appetizer every time I dine at the Olive Garden with my friends. My variation is lighter than the restaurant version; it is made with olive oil and is baked with a tomato based sauce. Fewer cheeses in the recipe make it a more heart healthy dish. The end result is a delicious appetizer or buffet dish that will impress your family and friends.

Stuffed Mushrooms

1 pound medium or large mushrooms
1 cup dry bread crumbs
1 teaspoon dried basil
2 tablespoons grated parmesan cheese
minced or chopped fresh garlic (to taste)
salt and pepper (to taste)
2 tablespoons olive oil

Sauce

1 small onion, chopped
2 teaspoons olive oil
1- 8 ounce can tomato sauce
1/4 teaspoon oregano
fresh garlic (to taste)

Wash and dry the mushrooms and remove the stems. Hollow out the mushroom caps slightly by scraping with a teaspoon. Combine the bread crumbs, basil, parmesan cheese , garlic, salt and pepper and olive oil; mix well. Fill the mushrooms with the crumb mixture. Coat a shallow baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. Place the mushroom caps in the baking dish.

Prepare the sauce. Saute’ the onion in the oil in a small pan until it turns translucent. Add the remaining ingredients; stir well and simmer 10 minutes. Pour the sauce evenly over the mushrooms. Place in the oven and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.

I know you enjoyed the recipe above if you had a chance to try it. The recipe came from the books I purchased a while ago, and these restaurant copycat recipes are redily available, I am talking HUNDREDS! I couldn’t believe what I had found. The nice thing about it is they give easy step by step instructions with the exact amounts of ingrediants. If you are like me, you can even dabble a bit and make small little changes, to make them more healthy and still taste the same as you would normally get at places like Red Lobster, The Olive Garden, Chilis, Cracker Barrel, KFC, Bob Evans, TGI Friday’s, Ruby Tuesdays. I could go on and on but I think you have the idea.

Ron Douglas of America’s Secret Recipes has really done his homework, and if you came here looking for particular recipe or a tip on how to make top copycat restaurant recipes, you are the same as I was not long ago. I have created a FULL REVIEW of these 2 recipe books, plus the hundreds of free recipes they give as a bonus, but they still MISSED some very important recipe areas. Think of this, for the price of one or maybe two of these meals you now have access to thousands.

Chilis Long Island Iced Tea And More Secrets

   

If you have stumbled upon this page searching for Chilis long island iced tea drink recipe, I was in your same shoes not long ago. I enjoy these things everytime I go there and I always wanted to make them the same way. I found a good recipe and have included it below but it just isn’t the same as what I found when searcing for other copycat restaurant recipes. I lucked in for chilis long iced tea drink only by accident, because I was actually looking for another top secret recipe but from another place, KFC. I didn’t think I needed to purchase yet another recipe book, but I couldn’t resist. Please enjoy what I have given you below.

While it is one of the most commonly requested drink recipes, the ingredients of the Long Island Iced Tea can cause it to remain one of the more difficult beverages to accurately prepare. The high liquor-to-mixer ratio of this drink along with its dense sugar concentration makes its required balance quite delicate. If the mixologist uses too heavy of a hand when it comes to the liquor pouring, the drink can hold an extraordinary level of intoxication potential which still manages to be masked by all of the sugar in the non-alcoholic ingredients. Contrarily, not enough liquor can leave the consumer with an overly sweet drink that tastes nothing like the Iced Tea it is meant (yes, this drink made in the proper proportions actually does appear as well as taste similar to a regular non-alcoholic Iced Tea!)

Prior to preparing this drink recipe, the following barware should be on hand:

    * Either a glass/steel Boston style cocktail shaker with strainer (recommended) or a 3-piece stainless steel cocktail shaker set
    * A measuring Jigger, shot glass with measuring lines, or auto-measuring bottle pourer spout
    * A highball glass for each guest (approximately 12 ounce capacity)

Begin by throwing a few ice cubes into each highball glass. Next, measure the following ingredients (quantity for each guest) into the cocktail shaker:

    * 1/2 oz of Vodka
    * 1/2 oz of Rum
    * 1/2 oz of Tequila
    * 1/2 oz of Gin
    * 1/2 oz of Triple Sec
    * 2 oz of Sweet and Sour Mix

Give the ingredients a good 3-5 second shake to create a uniform mix of the flavors, and then pour over the ice in the highball glass. Each glass should then receive a quick splash of Cola (no more than an ounce), and finally a cherry garnish.

Red Lobster Shrimp Diablo

Ingredients: 3 pounds large uncooked shrimp in shells (no heads), 1 jar BBQ sauce, 1/2 cup ketchup, 1 tablespoon freshly-ground pepper, 4 tablespoons liquid crab boil, 1/4 cup red hot sauce, 1/2 pound unsalted butter, 1/2-1 gallon milk

1.Wash shrimp in cold water
2.Soak shrimp in milk overnight
3.Mix all sauce ingredients in sauce pan and stir until boiling
4.Remove from heat and refrigerate for at least 4-5 hours
5.Drain milk from shrimp and place in a baking pan
6.Cover shrimp evenly with the sauce
7.Let stand one hour
8.Bake uncovered at 450 degrees for 15 minutes

For the price of just one entrée from these restaurants, an entire cookbook of secret recipes could be yours! KFC Biscuit Recipe Finally Uncovered

There are many hidden secrets, but I think one of the largest secret restaurant recipes is the KFC biscuit recipe. I finally found what I was looking for but need to be fair to you for coming to this article. I have a biscuit recipe I have been using for a while and don’t get me wrong, my family loves them, but they are not the same as KFC Buttermilk Biscuits.

Making flaky, tall biscuits can be challenging. There are some crucial rules that you need to follow. First, you must work with cold butter and buttermilk. Second, you must not over work the dough. And, finally, you need to place them close to each other on the baking sheet so they don’t come out with crusty edges.

 

Here is what you need for 12 deliciously flaky buttermilk biscuits:

4 cups flour
2 TBS baking powder
2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
12 TBS cold butter
2 cups cold buttermilk

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

Whisk all of the dry ingredients together. Place the flour mixture into a food processor and add the 12 TBS butter cut into 6 pieces. If your processor is not big enough, work in batches. Pulse the flour a few times until the flour resembles coarse crumbs. If you do not have a processor, use 2 knives or a pastry blender. Work with cold butter and stop when your flour resembles coarse crumbs.

Form a well in the middle of your flour mixture. Add the buttermilk. Make sure it is cold and shake the box well. Very gently incorporate the liquid into the dry ingredients. Do not over handle! You want to combine all the dry with the wet ingredients. If you need a little more buttermilk go ahead and add it a ½ TBS at a time. The dough will be- and must be – sticky.

Flour a large board or your counter. Place the dough on the board and spread it out using your fingers. Do not knead it, simply flatten it until it is about ½ inch thick. Cut your biscuits using a biscuit cutter, cookie cutter or a large glass. Do not rotate your cutting instrument into the dough. Aim for a straight cut. Get all your remaining dough together and repeat the process until you have cut all of your biscuits.

Place the biscuits on a baking sheet very close to each other. This will keep them from having crusty edges and will let them get taller. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until lightly browned. Remove from oven and enjoy warm or at room temperature.

I hope you enjoy the buttermilk biscuit recipe I gave you, but as I said when I started I found what I was looking for, but I had not tried them yet, so that would not have been fair to you and quite frankly dishonest. I have now had a chance to try this  restaurant copycat recipes, and all I can say is, WOW! these are awsome. Problem is, my family wants these more and more. Better yet, not only did these guys uncover KFC biscuit recipe, they have uncovered hundreds of top America’s Secret Recipes.

To save you time, I want to give you my non bias opinion of these books. They have really over delivered, but they missed a few things.

Have you ever wondered what made all these recipes so secret? Are they your mother’s "secret" recipes? Are they your they your grandmother’s? or even maybe your grandfather’s?

Everyone I think have their favorite secret recipes, some might be for secret recipes appetizers which get handed down from family member to family member, but I think the most popular handed down secret recipes are, secret spagetti sauce recipes. I even think some of these famous restaurants have these very same recipes but how does one really uncover these restaurant copycat recipes.

During the summer months, I like to make my own homemade spaghetti sauce. Once I have it made, I will freeze or can it for future use. This particular sauce is great for spaghetti, lasagna, rigatoni, ravioli and manicotti.

Italian Spaghetti Sauce Recipe

6 lbs. lean ground beef
2 (8 ounce) packages of pepperoni
2 (12 ounce) cans tomato paste
2 (15 ounce) cans Italian tomato sauce
5 (29 ounce) cans tomato puree
2 1/2 teaspoons seasoning salt
1 teaspoon onion salt
2 teaspoons granulated sugar
2 bay leaves
2 teaspoons garlic salt
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons table salt
1 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
2 tablespoons oregano leaves
1 1/2 teaspoons red pepper
2 teaspoons chili powder
2 tablespoons dried onion
1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1/2 cup italian seasoning

Brown the lean ground beef in a large frying pan, drain off burger grease. In a large stock pot, combine cooked beef, pepperoni, tomato paste, tomato sauce and tomato puree. Cook for 10 minutes on medium heat. Turn heat down to simmer and stir in all of the spices. Simmer the sauce for 45 to 60 minutes to allow all of the spices to infuse into the sauce mixture.

How to can your spaghetti sauce:

Sterilize and clean your canning jars. (I prefer using quart-sized wide mouth jars). Ladle hot mixture into hot jars. Clean the rims of jars with a clean cotton towel. Seal jars and then process in a water bath canner for 30 minutes. Remove jars from canner and allow them to cool down in a non-drafty area of your kitchen.

Note: You can also freeze the spaghetti sauce in freezer safe airtight container for up to 1 year.

If you would like more of these copycat restaurant recipes, KFC, Applebees, Cracker Barrel, TGI Fridays, Olive Garden, I found what I think is the best out there. These guys  have uncovered hundreds of recipes, and the last thing I needed to do was purchase another recipe book, but after what I saw and the money I have saved in the last month alone, saved me 10 times the cost of the books. But, they are missing something! Yes they gave me access to hundreds of faous top America’s Secret Recipes, and even gave me hundreds of more free recipes, but in my full review, I uncovered what they missed…

Applebee s Spinach Artichoke Dip Recipe

Have you ever wanted to make the same delicious food that you enjoy at Applebees? When my family gets a chance to go there we have always wondered how secret the recipes are. My husband and I were at home one night just talking about how much we spent the night before. Don’t get me wrong, we were not saying that we can’t afford it but we thought that it would be great if we could make these at home, actually applebee copycat restaurant recipes. When we go to Applebees, we always start off with Applebee s spinach artichoke dip recipe, all of my family just loves it. Applebees dip is always enjoyed with some famous Applebees drinks, soda for the kids, but not for us.

Anyways, back to us chatting one evening. We thought that it would be great to find some of these Applebee copycat recipes, so my husband grabbed his laptop, which was near by. We tried different searches, Applebee s spinach artichoke dip recipe, recipe for Applebee garlic mashed potatoes, applebee drink recipes, and many others. We found a lot of different sites claiming they uncovered the secret restaurant copycat recipes, but more importantly, this one site kept coming up. We decided to did a little deeper into this site.

What we found was pretty amazing. This guy, Ron Douglas claims he has uncovered hundreds of secret restaurant recipes, so much so that he has created two books. We thought to ourselves that if we had 5 at dinner last night instead of four, the diffence we would have spent would give us access to all these hundreds of recipes, so we thought, what the heck, and purchased it.

Here are a few ways to try to copycat your favorite Applebee’s restaurant recipe:

1.) You may be able to obtain the recipe from the restaurant by visiting their website or by asking the waiter for a copy. Some chefs are flattered that someone would ask for their recipe. You may have already identified most of the ingredients in the recipe just by taste and appearance. If you just need to figure out a few unique ingredients, don’t be afraid to ask what they are.

2.) Reverse engineering is another method you could try to reproduce the restaurant’s recipe. Order the dish as carryout, take it home, and analyze it. You can make a game of trying to identify different ingredients in the dish by taste. Some people are really good at this, so invite your friends to help. Once you’ve identified the basic ingredients, experiment by trying different combinations of seasonings and cooking methods.

3.) Compare the taste of your experimental dish to the carryout food from the restaurant until you get it right.
The menu may even give you most of the ingredients in the item’s description. Write down the information on the menu and the answers you get from the waitress. Take a picture of your plate when the food is served and try to reproduce it at home.

here is a copycat version Applebee’s Hot Artichoke and Spinach Dip:

   Ingredients needed -

* 1 (14 ounce) can of artichoke hearts, drained and coarsely chopped

* 1 (10 ounce) box of frozen chopped spinach, pre-thawed

* 1 cup of shredded parmesan-romano cheese

* 1/2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

* 4 ounces of pre-softened cream cheese

* 10 ounces of pre-made alfredo sauce

* 1 teaspoon of finely minced garlic

* pepper (optional ingredient)

Directions

1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

2. Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl, mix well, and spread the mixture into a small baking dish

3. Bake for approx. 25-30 minutes or until all the cheese is melted

4. Serve with bread

Have fun copying that next Applebees recipe!

However you reproduce the restaurant copycat recipes of your favorite food, be sure you write it down so that you can prepare it as often as you like and get the same results every time you make it.

If you are like us, and always interested in saving a few bucks there may be a way for you to save a lot of money by preparing the same delicious meal at home. I am not talking a few bucks here, we sat down and figured we saved $250 last month alone. They did a great job creating these two books, actually they over delivered, but I am sorry to this, I found something missing.

Recipe For Copycat KFC Coleslaw

There’s coleslaw, then there’s KFC Coleslaw. What’s the secret? That’s what I wanted to know, especially as I was planning a huge family reunion – summer picnic-style! I tried calling KFC, emailing, perusing their website, and simply could not find the secret recipe for copycat KFC Coleslaw. I’d made coleslaw before – but in the sake of being honest, it certainly isn’t my area of expertise.

Ordering in "catered" coleslaw from the local small-town supermarket seemed impersonal, and asking one of my guests to make it was out of the question. Everyone had already volunteered to contribute a lot, and I was stuck with the rest. Coleslaw, so it seems, is a staple at summer picnics and parties in general, so I couldn’t just leave it out. I wanted my family reunion to be the best in recent memory – and to be the best, I had to have the best – that included KFC Coleslaw dressing recipe!

Unfortunately, I was on a budget, and to order the amount of coleslaw I’d need for the picnic from the local KFC (which, mind you, was not very "local" at all – quite a hike!) was simply not feasible. I live in a small town, and we have a real "do-it-yourself" mentality. So, I consulted with a friend, who informed me that there IS a way!

I never thought in a million years to order a "secret restaurant recipes" cookbook, but there it was! My family dove into that recipe for copycat kfc coleslaw and the whole reunion went off without a hitch. The memories are priceless, and my secret is safe! The whole clan thought it was authentic KFC Coleslaw dressing recipe! I swear it – they didn’t know the difference, and you wouldn’t either! Who would have thought that making your own "KFC" coleslaw would be so easy? Some things really are too good to be true!

Here’s a small sample of what you’ll find in the cookbook, the recipe for KFC Coleslaw:

Ingredients

* 8 cups finely diced cabbage (about 1 head)
* 1/4 cup diced carrot
* 2 tablespoons minced onions
* 1/3 cup granulated sugar
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/8 teaspoon pepper
* 1/4 cup milk
* 1/2 cup mayonnaise
* 1/4 cup buttermilk
* 1 1/2 tablespoons white vinegar
* 2 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice

Directions

1. Cabbage and carrots must be finely diced.
2. (I use fine shredder disc on food processor.) Pour cabbage and carrot mixture into large bowl and stir in minced onions.
3. Using regular blade on food processor process remaining ingredients until smooth.
4. Pour over vegetable mixture and mix thoroughly.
5. Cover bowl and refrigerate several hours or overnight before serving.

Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole

One of the best selling recipes I always enjoy is the Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole. Because of how it captured the hearts of many, people wanted so badly to bring it inside the comforts of their home. I had always heard that there was secret restaurant recipes on the internet but never really thought that I would get the exact ingrediants. I know there are many claims that they have it, but who do you trust? One day I was searching for different recipes and thought about the famous Cracker Barrel potatoe recipe that my family enjoy’s when we are out. I thought that if I was able to find something that claims they have the secret to Cracker Barrel hash brown recipe, I would do a couple of things. I would try it out and see, maybe put my own twist on them, but if I found one I liked and read everything about who is doing them, I might take the plunge and purchase it. Well, I found this one site, not only do they claim they have been able to copy top secret restaurant recipes, they actually had in there, the exact Craker Barrel breakfast casserole I was looking for. I took a close look at what they were offering and quite frankly, I was a bit skeptical. How could this be done? How is some of the top America’s Secret Recipes be uncovered and why would they do this?

You guessed it, I purchased it!

And because my search started with looking for Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole, I went right to that recipe. I was shocked, and better yet, my family was shocked in the morning when I put my secret dish on the table in front of them. I had told them how long it took me to find what I was looking for and finally purchased these recipe books that claim they found the secret to hundreds of restaurant recipes. I thought after I said that, I was going to pay for it. What did I just do? I just told them I found hundreds of secret restaurant recipes, the very same ones they enjoy when we go out. Now I am going to be stuck doing these things all the time. You know what? I thought they have to eat, and if I can really do these as good as I did the Cracker Barrel potato casserole, then they are going to really enjoy all these at our own home. Don’t get me wrong, I love going out as much as anyone, I need a break too, but I am able to do these and save hundreds of dollars. This is a win win!

Here is one version of the Cracker Barrel Hash Brown Casserole recipe for you to try.

The ingredients needed to make a clone of the hash brown casserole are the following:

2 pounds of frozen hash brown;
½ cup of butter or margarine,
preferably melted;
1 can of cream of chicken soup;
1 pint of sour cream;
½ cup of chopped onion;
2 cups of grated cheddar cheese;
1 teaspoon of salt;
and ¼ teaspoon of pepper.

After preparing the ingredients, you should go preheat your oven to 350°F and spray the baking pan that you will be using with a cooking spray. After doing this, revert your attention back to the ingredients that you have prepared a while ago and mix them thoroughly in a bowl. When you are satisfied with it, spread it over the baking pan and leave it in the oven baking for around 45 minutes or until you see that the top has already turned into a golden brown color.

After baking, let it sit for a while and serve it for your family’s enjoyment. And then be proud of yourself because, like me,  you were able to bring the famous Cracker Barrel bash brown casserole into your own home.

I have given a non bias point of view, but I have to tell you before you go there, I found some things missing. The books are called America’s Secret Recipes, and they give you many other recipes at no charge, but I fixed what they missed.
